Tässä pari pientä kunnostusprojektia, symbolien uudelleenmaalausta.

Here's two small re-painting projects.

Applejackin symbolit olivat haalistuneet todella kummallisen värisiksi ja vihdoin keräsin rohkeutta maalatakseni ne uudelleen. Maalasin punaiset omenat vanhojen päälle ja toiselle puolelle maalasin lehdetkin.

Applejack's symbols had faded to light orange and finally I got the courage to re-paint them. I painted new, red apples on old ones and at nds the leaves also needed some new paint.

Ja näin freessiltä Applejack nyt näyttää!

And this is how she looks like now!

Paljon parempi, vaikka eiväthän ne tehdastekoisia vastaa.

IMO, she looks much better, even though they're not "factory quality".

Ja sitten Playtime. Playtimen symbolit kärsivät puhdistuksessa hieman ja olen harmitellut sitä suunnattomasti. Poni oli yllättävän törkyinen, vaikka pikasilmäyksellä se ei vaikuttanutkaan niin pahalta. Totuus oli toinen...

And then Playtime. Playtime's symbols got damaged while cleaning and I've been torturing myself for that. She was quite dirty, though she looked pretty nice at first. Well, that first sight wasn't the whole truth...

Tämän lisäksi Playtime oli tahrainen ja siinä oli paljon hikijälkiä.

She had also some stains and sweat marks all over her.

Puhdistuksen jälkeen symboli näytti tältä.

Maalasin symbolin varmaan kolme kertaa, ennen kuin olin tyytyväinen. Värisävyjen etsiminen ei ollut läheskään niin hankalaa, kuin tuon naruosan maalaus. Pensselistä tuppaa jäämään "maalikupla" siihen kohtaan, mistä pensselin nostaa pois ja ne jäivät vääjäämättä liian kirkkaiksi verrattuna muihin osiin. Kuitenkin tämä lopputulos miellytti eniten, nimittäin hioin maalattuja kohtia hieman hienolla hiekkapaperilla epätasaisuuksien eliminoimiseksi.

I painted the symbol at least three times before I was happy. Finding the right colors wasn't that hard, but painting that rope was... But I'm quite satisfied with this!

Kyllä nämä hyllyssä kelpaavat, en ole onneksi ihan niin nirso keräilijä. :)

Luckily, I'm not that picky collector. :)

NSS Buttons

Ostin tämän NSS Buttonsin (International) lähikirppikseltä hintaan 0,20 e. Hintaan nähden poni oli täysin kunnostettavassa kunnossa; ei pahasti likainen, karvat leikelty ja kasvoja oli joku innokas taiteilija meikannut. Symbolit aivan täydelliset! Päätin kokeilla pelastaa Buttonsin baittikohtalolta.

I bought this NSS Buttons from second hand store with a huge price of 0,20 euros (~0,29 $). She was in really fair condition what it comes to her price; she wasn't that dirty, she had hair cuts, someone had put make-up on her... Symbols are just perfect! I decided to give her a shot.

Ekaksi lähdin haalistamaan naaman meikit, koska ne nyt olivat suurin ongelmani. Kevätauringossa kesti n. viikko, kun punainen kynä suusta oli hävinnyt. Kuulakärkikynäripsien kanssa piti odotella pidempään, muistaakseni muutamia viikkoja. Haalistus onnistui yli odotuksien!

First I had to get rid of those pen marks, that she had on her face. Spring sun faded her red "lipstick" in a week, blue-pen mascara took a bit longer, few weeks. Sun fading was a success!

Sitten oli vuorossa reroottaus ja toisen silmän korjausmaalaus.

Then I had to reroot her hair and repair her right eye a bit.

Käytin ensimmäistä kertaa roottaustyökalua, josta kiitokset Pinjalle! Pinja teki minulle tosi hyvän roottaustyökalun, tosin sen käyttö vaatii meikäläiseltä harjoitusta. :D

For the first time I used re-rooting tool, which I got from Pinja. She made the tool herself and it works like a dream, I just need more practice. :D

Midnight Garden

Ensimmäinen G3 kustomini! Tämä oli mukava tehdä, G3 ponien vartalot on jotenkin niin mukavia työstää.

My first G3 custom! This one was really nice to work with, I like the G3 bodies.

Pohjana on Fluttershy, jonka vartalo oli tuhrittu pinkillä yliviivaustussilla ja siinä oli nirhaumia. Muuten neitonen oli hyväkuntoinen, joten säästinkin hänen alkuperäiset karvansa ja vartalonvärin.

The bait is Fluttershy, who's body was ruined with pink highlighter and she also had scratches. Otherwise she was in a nice condition, so I kept her original hair and body color.

Tein ensiksi siivet, joiden pohjalta sitten tein koko ponin. Siipiin sain idean täältä.

I made the wings first and kept going on getting all my ideas based on the wings. The idea for the wings is from here.

Siivet on maalattu kynsilakalla ja lasimaalilla. Päällä on kiiltävä varnish.

The wings are painted with nail polish and glass paint, finished with gloss varnish.

Symbolit piti maalata punaisten sotkujen päälle ja niiden piti olla tarpeeksi peittäviä. Päädyin eräänlaiseen mystiseen puutarha-aiheeseen, puut ja kukat peittävät aika kivasti pinkin värin ja kolot vartalossa.

I needed to paint the symbols on those nasty pink marks and they needed to be as opaque as possible. I ended up with this mystique garden, the trees and flowers cover up nicely marks in her body.

Maalit ovat Galerian akryyleja ja ne on päällystetty matalla varnishilla.

Paints are Galeria's acrylics and all the body's paint work is finished with matt varnish.

Ja kuten moni tietää, niin tällainen poni on vain keräilyesine. Tällä ei voi leikkiä, se on vain kaunis koriste. Aion myydä tämän, jos joku tämän haluaa. :)

As all know, this pony is not for play. She's only a collectible piece, a show off toy. :) I'm selling her, if anyone's interested in having her.

"Baitteja" "Baits"

Ostin Etsystä itselleni muutaman G3 baitin. Ne olivat todella halpoja ja minua niin kiinnostais kokeilla kustomoida G3 poni. Ponit tulivat nopsaa, viikossa kolahtivat postilaatikkoon. Silmäilin ponit ja huomasin, että vain yksi neljästä ostamastani ponista oli oikeasti baitti! Muut pääsivät hoidon jälkeen hyllyyn. :)

I bought few G3 baits from Etsy. They were pretty cheap and I'm really interested in trying to customize a G3 pony! They arrived really quickly, about in a week. After opening the package I realized that only one of four "baits" was a real bait! Three other got a little treatment and are now in my shelf. :)

Kaikilla oli harjat takussa, pintalikaa ja parilla oli myös mustetahroja, jotka lähtivät auringossa. :)

They all had frizzy hairs, a lot of dirt and two of them had few blue-pen stains that cleaned out nicely in sunlight. :)

Ekat Rainbow ponit / My first Rainbow ponies

Vihdoin sain kotiini Ebaysta huutamani kaksi Rainbow ponia. :) Hintaa näille kaunokaisille ei tullut, kuin 0,99 £ ja postikulut, halvalla lähtivät. Molemmilla oli vain pintalikaa, joka lähti ihmesienellä. Symbolit täydellisiä, silmät ja hiukset samoin.

Jos jotain huonoa pitää keksiä, niin Moonstonen nds-puolen symbolien alla on kaksi ihan pientä neonspottia, jotka hädintuskin näkyy ja koukussa olevassa jalassa on sinertävä tahra, joka ei lähteny ihmesienellä. Oon niiiiin iloinen!

Finally I got these lovely Rainbow ponies, which I bought from Ebay. They cost only 0,99 £ plus postages, so I think they were cheap! They both were a bit dirty, but they cleaned well with magic eraser. Symbols are perfect, as well as hairs and eyes.

If I HAVE to come up with something to complain about, that would be, that Moonstone has two teeny tiny neonspots on nds symbol, but they are really hard to see. She also has a blue stain on her front leg. Otherwise I'm so glad of having them!
